Sick sick sick

We have had some crazy bug infest our home this past week.
There is nothing I dislike more than sick kids. It is so sad and I hate to see them hurting and me not being able to take the pain away.
I wish I had gotten a picture of Kasen when he was hit with the bug. Poor guy, he just threw up all day and then had major diareah for days. Lexi I think got hit the hardest. She threw up for two days, and laid lethargically around the house with no energy at all. She now has the runs and it was so sad because they hit her in the middle of the night and she couldn't make it to the bathroom quick enough. I woke up to her crying and when I went in the bathroom she was trying to clean up the mess. She was so embarrassed and she didn't want me to come in and see. It was so so sad. She cried for hours just doubled over with a stomach ache. Almost 4 days later she is still barely eating and her poor clothes are falling off her. Chloe also joined in on the fun. The both of them were so nauseous that anytime they stood up or tried to move they lost it and threw up. I really had my laundry cut out for me with those two throwing up at the same time. I took a lot of showers myself. I was always the target.
Tallie has not gotten sick. I'm not sure she can avoid it but so far so good, so maybe we get lucky?
On Saturday while this fun stuff was going on, Tallie and I took a break and went on a date and left TJ in charge (he called me later saying it was uncool to leave him with two girls barfing at the exact same time and with Kasen who needed his diaper changed like every 5 min). We went to Seven Peaks so we could ride the slides we never get to ride and then grabbed some lunch. It was an awesome free date that was super fun with Tallie.

Activity Day Camp

When I was little there was no such thing as Activity Days.
It's pretty cool and Tallie loves it.
Here she is about to go to day camp. She had so much fun shooting bb guns, shooting arrows, beading necklaces and playing with sling shots.
Where was this when I was little?

Sewing room!

I go in spurts with sewing. I like to have a good project to work on and then I usually have a big break. There are always some little odds and ends that I need to sew but I really hate getting my sewing machine out, setting it all up on the kitchen table for just a few minutes of sewing only to put it all away so that Kasen won't get at it and so that we can have dinner on the table.
It's a pain.
Well we have this spare room downstairs thats like to be a dumping place for all sorts of things and it not practical at all and so disorganized and I feel like the extra room is just going to waste. So for a while now I have wanted to get a table in there to have my sewing machine set up always so I can be in and out of there and just shut the door behind me. I know that I would sew a lot more and that I would teach the girls more. I had my eye on this cute stensiled table and distressed chair on the yard sale page but since the girl wouldn't come down in price I thought I should just get a folding table from Walmart since it would be much cheaper. Well I asked Tj to pick it up for me when he was at Walmart one night but instead he came home with the one I really wanted! Apparently Tj has facebook on his phone and likes to check in once in awhile. He knew I wanted that table from the conversations I had been having with the girl selling it.
I walked into the downstairs room and it was all set up for me.
I was so excited because its just perfect and to celebrate I took the girls to Hobby Lobby this morning to let them pick out fabric so I could help them make their own aprons. They turned out super cute and were so easy to make (I just traced an apron I already had). The girls liked helping and I am so in love with the new sewing room!
I will be sewing so much more now. TJ even said we should set up the Cameo machine on another table and he would teach me how to use it and then I would have my complete craft room. That would be cool since there are so many things I would love to make with the Cameo but since I don't know how and since TJ has his own stuff to do and because its a hasel to drag the machine out all the time I never do.

Random

The kids started swim lessons. We were lucky and happened to have signed up at the same time and place with the Wilkins. Its nice to have someone to chat with while I wait. I feel like they are actually progressing this year. Tallie is working on all kinds of stroke and Chloe was learning to dive today and she even was treading water for her teacher. She may have cried the whole time treading with her mouth just above the water but she did it. She wasn't happy about it and cried for awhile after it was over because she doesn't like the deep end and the fact that her teacher wouldn't hold onto her. Hopefully she won't cry when she has to go back on Monday. I hope Lexi will pick up on floating this year. It was freezing the other morning when they had lessons. I think it was only like 45 degrees out. We actually came home and had hot chocolate.
Hmmm, hot chocolate and swim lessons???
The rest of the day we stayed inside and built marshmallow structures. Everyone got pretty creative with what they made.

Utah Lake and Father's Day

So we made our summer bucket list and I feel like time is just slipping away so I am such a hurry to get cracking at it.
We wanted to take the raft down to Utah Lake and play around and fish and have a camp fire and have dinner and s'mores. We waited until Kasen was up from his nap to go so that the dinner part would fit in. We patched the hole in the raft, loaded up the truck and drove down.
It was SO windy.
I swear the raft would have blown away so we didn't even put it in the water, and a fire was so out of the question so we never made one.
We were all pretty cold and no one really wanted to get wet.
We ate our sandwiches on a log and the kids played around for a bit and we all thought about how much fun we would have had had the weather been nice.
Oh well, we'll have to try again.
At least I got some cool pictures.

Father's Day was good. The kids and I made TJ breakfast in bed: an egg mcmuffin oranges, and the kids to it to him on a tray. They each had made their cards (they were all trying to be funny and so none of them really made sense. They just wanted dad to laugh). After church we went to TJ's parents house for Ribs and hung out with a few of the sisters and their families who happened to be in town.
I hope TJ knows how much we love him. Kasen will stand at the window on his chair and will cry as he watches TJ drive away for work in the mornings. They all get super excited when they hear the truck coming home from work at the end of the day. He is an amazing dad who loves to spend time with them. And what is so awesome is that I always wanted to marry someone like my dad. Tj is so like my dad in so many ways and I love that about him. My own dad is amazing and he is my greatest example in everything. He is smart and reserved (I got that from him, not the smart part), he is patient and caring, he is quick to say he is sorry, he is sensitive and really just wants me to write him poems for every holiday. He loves basketball and is amazing at it and taught me how to play. He loves the great outdoors from hunting to fishing to camping to boating and I love doing all of that. He knows when to bite his tongue (I need to work on that) and he is super humble. He is such a hard worker and I have never seen him take a day off of work when he was sick. He would literally have to be dying before that. He is a master creator and has built his company from the ground up, starting with one Indian silversmith in his garage. Now he owns one of the finest jewelry companies in NM and sells his jewelry worldwide. I mean he has his own mine for crying out loud. He is sweet and always wants a hug and I am so glad that he is my dad!
I have the best of both worlds.

Tessa's Marathon

I still really wish that it would have worked out for me to run this race with Tessa. But it was so awesome that I got to be her cheering squad and follow her around. I found her around mile 22 I think and then I ran with her for a couple miles. That was really cool. She did that with me on my first marathon and it helped me to not focus on the pain of running. I was able to take a video of her while running and send it to the family. They were all so worried that she might blow her knees out or something or that she would struggle a ton because she had pneumonia during her training and she missed some really important big runs. But she finished without stopping and that's what she set out to do and I hope that this little journey she took will leave her with many great memories and that she was able to release some of her emotional weight she has been carrying.

Summer Fun

We have been to Seven Peaks a couple times so far and I have been pleasantly surprised. It hasn't been too crowded and its been pretty enjoyable. I just wish that Kasen would hang out with the rest of us in the water instead of running away all over the place.

The Art City Days carnival was nice and busy and we waited in line for 45 min for the ferris wheel. That's pretty much the ONLY ride the girls wanted to ride and once they finally got on it I really thought Tallie was gonna loose her dinner. Each time I saw her go past I wanted to tell the guy to stop the ride if he wanted to see chunks flying.
She probably won't be riding that ride again any time soon.

I put shower caps on the girls one day and covered them with shaving cream and handed them a bag of Cheeto Puffs. The object of the game was to see how many puffs you could throw on someone else's cap. When the time was up who ever had the least amount of puffs on their head won. It was hilarious to watch and messy to clean up.

Ice Blocking

I'm pretty sure ice blocking is a Mormon thing. I only did it once growing up mainly because the one park that had all the hills was kinda sketchy and falling on a drug needle was a real possibility. I did it a few times in college and now I take my kids. They think its awesome and its good cheap fun.
Plus I love all the pictures I get from it.
