New Years Eve
I love love New Years Eve. I haven't always until about 4 years ago when we started some cool traditions. I love how we keep it just us. No friends, no parties, no just me and TJ going out and leaving the kids with a sitter. Its all about our family and being together. We eat Chinese food, either at the restaurant or at home on a blanket by the fire, we play games like hide and seek and Telestrations. We light our lantern and say a family wish for the new year. We drink Martinellies and tell funny stories about the kids growing up or our own childhoods. We let the kids stay up till 10:00pm this year and TJ and I actually made it to midnight! I love the start of a new year! We have yet to sit down together and write out all of our goals and things we want to work on and to gather things for the time capsule but TJ and I have already started a new thing...every night after we put the kids to bed we go out and walk around the block. Or two. Its quiet and peaceful. Its been so freezing at night but we decided we will do it every night no matter the weather. We have only done it a few times but I already look forward to every night when we can go again.
