Things I want to remember

We had Easter dinner a week early (since Easter is on Conference this year) at TJs parents house. I love how I switched their traditional spiral ham to my shredded shank (butt portion) ham. Its the only way ham should be eaten. I also love spending time with grandma and grandpa. They really are the best!

Lately I have decided that I want to take pictures of the everyday mundane routine things we do that one day won't happen any more. The things that I will miss the most. Ironically the things that are sometimes dreaded and so hard right now. I want to remember these tiny moments. So here we are at Walmart. Every week. The kids hanging on the cart. It will be sad when its just me, shopping alone. And here is my crazy side talking when I say I am secretly excited for summer just so I can take all the kids with me to the store. They are such good kids and Tallie is the best at loading and unloading groceries. Wonder how she will feel about my re usable bags??

Tallie stayed home from school today. Right before it was time to leave she burst into tears. She said she was nauseous and dizzy and her tummy had been hurting all morning and some during the night. I asked her why she didn't say anything earlier but she wanted to wait it out to see if it would go away so she could go to school. Well instead we spent the day together. She came with us to Lexi's gymnastics and once Lexi went to school and Kasen was napping we played Monopoly, gave pedicures, and styled all the dolls hair. She helped me water the new strawberries I planted and the broccoli and cauliflower. I also secretly love it when she has to stay home. Plus she played with the little kids in the morning while I got ready. Kasen was loving having her around all day.

I got a taste of summer nights tonight. The weather was nice, the neighbors sprinklers were on, the kids were riding bikes thru them, totally soaked. Sand box and mud pies, foosball with the neighbors. I really can't wait. Spring break is happening next week. YAHOO!

Easter FHE

The church has come out with a few new Easter video clips that are only about a couple of minutes each but they are so POWERFUL and full of the Spirit! And it doesn't matter really how old or young you are, you can't not get goosebumps watching them. One thing I want my kids to know and be engrained in their little hearts is that whatever pain, sorrow, heartache, suffering, burden, sadness, betrayal, loss, anger, physical or emotional, our Savior, Jesus Christ has felt them all. So when you feel like there is no one you can turn to, no one who could possible imagine what you are going thru, that He does. He has been there and He is waiting with open arms for you to come unto Him. He will be your comforter and carry you when you can not carry yourself. He can heal ALL things and He will love you NO MATTER what. The Atonement is real and is for everyone and for anything. He has made it possible to us to repent and be clean again because He took upon himself all our sins. We can return to live with our Heavenly parents and our Savior again and we are never alone while on this earth away from home. He has sent us the Holy Ghost to be our constant companion to lead us back to His presence. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have of His Gospel and that I know my purpose her on earth and that I am not wandering blindly. I know where I am going and how to get there.

While we colored eggs, Lexi could not stop laughing! She was so giggly it was killing me!

St. George

Last weekend we went down to St. George to run our first race for the runners series. It was nice to finally run with TJ for the first time ever! It was also such a fun little getaway with the kids and Tessa and her girls. The weather was so nice. We swam, hiked and played at the sand dunes. The girls got to try out their camelbacks for the first time and they loved it and so did we. We didn't have to carry all their water bottles and stop every five minutes to get them drinks. They drank and hiked at the same time! We hiked to the lava caves. We took flash lights and the kids thought it was so cool to explore around in the dark. Chloe was a bit scared and cried a couple times and Kasen was not a huge fan and kept saying he wanted out. We go back in a few weeks for our half and that will hopefully be just as fun.
