Another week down

Another week down of TJ being out of town in training. And yes while this does suck in many ways to have my husband absent for so long, I can look on the bright side and see the good coming from it. When he does come home for his short 24 hrs it is very cherished. And we have had some of the best quality family time. He came home Friday night around 8:30 so the kids got to see him before they went to bed. We stayed up late telling stories. On Saturday we were debating on going to the temporary American Girl Doll store up in Salt Lake. The girls wanted to take their money and I thought it would be a fun experience for them. They get so dang excited when a new magazine comes in the mail and they fight over looking thru it that I thought it would be super fun to take them to the store where they could see it all first hand. But after reading about the opening and how you needed tickets and you would have to wait for your number to be called to even go in and all the talk about no over night camping outside I knew it would take all day and that that alone would suck all the fun out of it. So we opted to take a family bike ride to the library (the older girls like to go to check out their own books) and then over to the gas station for Slurpee's. We then rode over to the park by the splash pad and hung out. We played a huge game of tag and it was seriously the funnest thing ever. TJ and I both got so into it running around like crazy. We had all the other families at the park starring and laughing at us. We rode home and played in the yard. We made pizza for dinner and Bob and Mona dropped by and had cake and ice cream with us since we were celebrating Kasens birthday while Tj was home. We carved pumpkins until bedtime and then TJ and I watched the new Jurassic Park movie. He was able to make it to sacrament meeting with us this morning before he had to leave to catch his flight. It was so good to see him and have him home. We have two more weeks of him being gone and this time no visits or us visiting him. Its gonna be tough for us all. I'd be lying if I didn't say it was a concern of mine that with Tj being gone, not having the kids and the daily routine and the crying and yelling and the responsibilities of being at home that I worry that he might like the "single" life and the friends and going out and that whole life style. I know he doesn't like it and I know he misses us like crazy but I could just see how if this was to go one longer how Satan could creep in. You just always have to be careful.
The next 2 weeks will be busy. In which I am grateful for but also stressing over. This week I have to make freezer meals, clean my house like crazy, mow the lawn, watch kids, declutter houses, have Kasens real birthday, help with Halloween parties at school, get baby shower invites out, laundry, food shop, halloween parade, halloween, pack and get the kids ready for Mona to come and watch them all of next week while I go to Tennessee with my mom and sisters. Once I come back I have a week to put together a baby shower and then I have to put together a Thanksgiving fun run for when we go to Albuquerque. And then its Christmas!!! Where is the time going??

Kasen got a Strider bike for his birthday!

Visiting TJ in San Clemente

Since it was fall break for the kids and since it would have been two weeks since we saw TJ last I got brave and decided to drive out to visit him. I really dislike driving alone that far with all the kids but surprisingly it went so well! The kids were great and nice and Kasen was amazing and took some good naps too (I won't mention that he threw up all over himself and the car about 20 min into our drive or that he threw up all over the La Verkin house once we got there). I really hate driving in California with all the traffic and millions of freeways but I didn't get lost and the kids even gave me a round of applause from the back of the car after I successfully changed freeways like 4 times to get to our hotel (funny kids). It was nice to piggy back with Tessa so we could stop and eat together along the way but it was impossible to stick together the entire time. The weather was great, the water was great and not too cold. I swam and boggie boarded with the kids. I took family pics for Tessa one day, so not an easy thing to do. I'm lucky we even got one decent one out of the million we took. Neither of the girls wanted to cooperate, like at all. Very stressful to say the least. It was a good weekend for Tessa and her girls to get away and not think about the life they left behind. Ian got married while we were away and the beach is what they all needed. Ironically Jade had never been so happy as she was those few days than she had been in over a year. Take her away from her dad and his drama and she is happy. She didn't ask to even call him once or mention his name. I'm glad we went even tho we spent money we should not have. Great memories and I don't regret it one bit. We went to the beach everyday all day and then either ate out or I made food for picnics at the pier. We would then end the night swimming off all the sand in the hotel pool. It was the warmest pool ever so I swam every night too. One night it rained on us and we just kept swimming. So fun. I'll have to post those pics later since they are on TJs phone.
