Tallie Turns 9

There is one thing I know for sure about Tallie: She is so indecisive and can never make up her mind. I am still trying to find out what it is that makes her really excited, what is she is really into. I think she is trying to figure that out for herself as well. She finally decided she wanted to go to Hangtime with her two best friends Maili Wilkins and Elena Wakefield. Her cousins Jade and Brightyn came too. We had pizza for dinner and then donuts in place of the traditional birthday cake. She really just does not like cake. As a family we went to the movies and saw Dolphin Tale 2. On her actually birthday which was Sunday she was able to go to her first temple dedication. She was pretty excited about that. 

Tallie is sweet and caring and loves to learn. She enjoys school and learning new things. She loves to play with friends and mostly loves to play "school" when they are over. She is such a big help and knows exactly when I am about to boil over and she jumps right in to help in any way she can. She is a good sport and has a sensitive heart. I LOVE having her my sweet Tallie in my life.

Her favorite dinner is: Chicken Broccoli Pockets

Her favorite TV show is currently watching the movie Holes on netflix over and over.

Her favorite books right now are: Ever After High

Bear Lake

We all look forward to this trip every year. We usually go with Jamie and Gordon (who I LOVE having this tradition with). This year we were planning on going whether or not the Garretts could come. I guess you could say I'm pretty selfish when it comes to family trips. There are not many times where just Tj and I and the kids get to go somewhere on our own. Most the time we spend holidays and summer vacations with family. I like to camp just us and do some holidays just us. The reason is that I feel like we spend more quaility time with each other. Other times I feel like I never even see the kids. I was kind of bummed when pretty much everyone in Tj's family decided to head on down to Bear Lake with us this year. But really, IT WAS SO MUCH FUN WITH THEM THERE! The kids love having their cousins around and I still felt like we all played together. The only not fun part was when it was winter for a day and we all froze. We made the best of it. We took the bikes this year which will now be a yearly thing. We rode everywhere around town and we even rented some trikes around the campground. I love this kind of vacationing because it doesn't matter what you look like, what you smell like and we never put on make up and we don't even shower everyday. Its just a casual laid back do whatever whenever time where we all get so dirty. I really don't know how I was so lucky to have married into the family I did. I love them so much and its so fun to live by some of them.

Speaking of family vacations getting crashed...

We had planned to go camping in Moab for Fall break. I have been wanting to take the kids hiking to the arches for awhile and to take the bikes on the trails. Well at church a while back a friend, Nick, was asking Tj what we were doing for fall break. Tj told him we were headed to Moab camping. He then went off about how fun it would be to get a condo together and to rent razors and so on. Tj didn't know what to say since Nick was kind of inviting himself on our vacation. So he kind of changed the subject. Well later that week Nick tx Tj and says sorry for inviting themselves on our trip but then went on to say that he was gonna book the condo and wanted to know if we were in..it was kind of an awkward spot for Tj mainly because he didn't want me to be pissed at him because he knows how I feel about family vacations. Plus I didn't want Chloe to be left out of Tallie and Ella's fun and have it not be any fun for her. It is a family trip. TJ told that to Nick that he was worried that Chloe would be the odd man out. Nick had that all figured out too and said he wanted to invited the Wakefield's for Jace to have a buddie and then Callie and Elena would be there to merry every one together.

We were stuck.

It will be fun, I know it and the kids will think its awesome. 

I just hadn't planned on vacationing with the Welschs and Wakefields.

I am still just a little bummed that its not just our thing with no friends or other distractions.

I worry about the guys all going off to do something adventurous and leaving the moms with the kids and then where is my vacation with TJ?

It will be fun. Its just funny how my family vacations keep being crashed.
