This year I told the kids they could not just order a costume on line, you know the ones that come in a bag. I told them they had to do what I did and figure out what they wanted to be and then piece it together and make it. Or they could look through the box through previous costumes. I broke the rule for Kasen and bought his since he needed some "dress ups" of his own to help steer him away from the girls princess dresses. I was proud of the creativity shown. We made Tallie into an octopus, Chloe the Statue of Liberty (I sewed the gown and had the hat from a NY trip and bought the torch). Lexi a scuba diver which we made out of a soda bottle. They were all so cute. Tj wasn't originally supposed to be home from training that weekend but he surprised us and used a voucher that was almost to expire to come spend Halloween with us! So naturally I had to put together a little something for us to wear. Lieutenant Dan and Forrest Gump.
It was a hit.
