For the 4th this year we went to Layton to enjoy the day with the Garrett family. The girls had SO MUCH FUN! If I had a spot for a pool like this in my yard I would TOTALLY have one! Tallie and Chloe turned into fish.
Megan and Tyler and their kids came and so did Chels and Thomas.
We were pretty nervous about Thomas being there because lately Chloe has had major issues with him. She becomes a leach on my leg and just cries and begs to go home.
She repeatedly told me she DID NOT want Thomas to be there. It was weird because when she first met him she LOVED him but her feelings turned overnight and she cries when she sees him. It was a little rocky but by the end of the night she was friends with him again. WEIRD.
The weather was overcast and looked like it might rain any minute but it turned out to be PERFECT! Not too hot and Gordo cooked up the BEST hamburgers!
All the kids in the pool thought it was hillarious to splash TJ. He was pretty wet.
But he became the coolest uncle and dad when he full on jumped into the pool with his clothes on to get his revenge.
Then he was crackin us up when "Arnie" (from the movie "What's eating Gilbert Grape") came out to play. You can't help but die laughing when he does this...He is SOOOOO good at it! I love the fact that I married a funny guy!
I was looking through my scrap material and found this patriotic fabric. In my college room my bedding and stuff was all red, white and blue and so I had sewed some "really cool" curtains out of this fabric. And I still had it! It was just enough for Lexi. So here is Lexi wearing my college curtains (Chloe wore the dress the day before to church).
Lexi was ridiculously tired (looks like I was too).
I love that Tallie and Sophie are such good friends. They were in the pool all night.
I made the quilt that everyone is sitting on watching the fireworks.
I made it when I was in college. Ya I was kinda of the grandma college kid who instead of going out until the wee hours in the morning with Tessa (my roommate then) I would stay home and sew. I had some friends that made fun of me and gave me a hard time but I didn't care because I knew I was cool.
It is always so fun getting together with family. It was a pretty great day and I am so glad that I am an AMERICAN! I am so glad that I live in a FREE LAND and enjoy so many FREEDOMS! I am so grateful for all of the people who have sacrificed so much for our country!
