Lexi loves to say prayers. She loves to say the dinner prayer and the family prayer. But we have always helped her with what to say.
Tonight she wanted to say them all by herself.
She said a short simple dinner prayer saying bless the food but it was her bedtime prayer that really hit home. It went like this:
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, please bless us to sleep comfortable, and to be safe. Help us to be nice and not fight with each other, in the name of Jesus Christ Amen".
She is 3 years old and I LOVE that she likes to use big words. I mean she asked to sleep COMFORTABLE not just to sleep good.
It just doesn't get any cutter than that.
We have really been trying to say morning family prayers before school and work and I think most days we forget and remember once we get to school but the times we have remembered our days have gone better. The girls notice it too and they are always the ones who remember that we have forgotten. It will get easier and become apart of our daily routine, I'm just glad that we are starting now and not when they are older when it really will be hard.
