Chloe sure does love her little brother. I often find her curled up next to him talking to him or trying to comfort him whenever he cries. She loves to feel his soft skin and she is starting to pick him up and hold him while standing, which makes her feel very big and important. Such a sweet helper she is.
This is a cute little outfit that Tandy sent me and even though Kasen looks like he doesn't like it, I assure you he does. He has been sick this past week and very irritable and not sleeping great. The other night from about midnight until morning he screamed and screamed ALL night. I just knew he must have ear infections to cry like that hour upon hour. Tj and I took turns all night doing laps around the house trying to comfort him. About 7 am with him still crying we called over a neighbor to help give him a blessing. He was calm and actually had fallen asleep during it (he was exhausted from litterally crying all night and not sleeping at all). Chloe had walked in during the blessing which was good for her to see us using the Priesthood. I finally took Kasen to the insta care just to confirm the ear infections and to see just how bad they were. I don't love using antibiotics and I definitly think that people are to quick to use them for everything but I knew that Kasen needed relief and that he nor I or TJ could do another night like that. He pretty much whimpered in my arms all day throughout the bursts of screams from the pain. He wasn't wanting to eat, his eyes were puffy and bloodshot and he was gagging on mucus. Once he had a few does of the meds in him he started to feel better. It's never fun to have sick kids, especially babies who can't voice what they are feeling. The ONLY good thing about it is that I got to snuggle my baby and he let me and he let me rock him to sleep even. It truly is awesome to be a mother. Kasen won't take a bottle or a binki and one of the only ways to soothe him is to nurse him and I LOVE being needed that way and being the only one who can calm him. Since it was hard and painful for him to nurse (swallowing hurts an ear ache) I was able to soothe him just by having that skin to skin contact with his cheek resting on my chest. And that was all it took for him to settle down. Today he is feeling better and is giving us smiles and being a sweetheart.
Chloe has this "look" that she does that just KILLS me! She will come up to me pretty close and do this smirk and then raise her eyebrows up and down at me. It can seriously break any tension or bad mood I am in and I can't help but laugh.
The very first time on the new carpet where running has never been so much fun!
I got ambitious one day and couldn't wait for TJ to get home from work to help me so I called over my neighbor Michelle and she helped me get the top bunk bed down. And then I took them apart and carried them downstairs and put them back together again and then called my neighbor again to help me put it back up. It was definitely A LOT harder to put it back up. It pretty much took me all day and by the time TJ got home Tallie and Chloes new room was put together. I still have to put up stuff on the walls but for the most part it's done. Their old room was such a disaster! I swear anything and everything that ever went missing or lost was under their bed. It was so gross and it took me the rest of the night to clear it out to be ready to be painted. I'll post pics of when I finally get Kasens room done.
The best part of the new room is that all of the bedding was FREE! Chelsea had left it from when she had stored her stuff here years ago from college and I had kept it just in case one day I would need it. I love how it turned out and so do the girls. We started putting the house back together. I got my treadmill back inside so I can start running again which I am so stoked about. I think I will also put a table in that spare room with it to keep my sewing machine out so I don't always have to put it away to eat dinner even if I'm not finished with my project. Plus it will be easier to have Tallie learn a bit here and there if I don't always have to drag it out. I'm pretty sure I will sew more. We found a dead mouse in the middle of the food storage in the garage which was awesome. The kids pretty much went and grabbed every neighbor kid to come take a look at their special find. I have put a hold on hair for the month of March to hopefully get kasen on some kind of dependable nap schedule. The last few colors I have done he has cried through and taken cat naps. Which I refuse to let my child cry while I do hair. He is only little once. Hair will always be there. So hopefully he can give me a routine so I can do hair only while he is sleeping. Plus my house is in such chaos with nothing in its place that I feel like I have no time. My first priority is putting my life back together.
