Spring time!

It's spring time and I love it and it also means its my birthday time!
I am turning 32 tomorrow and so far my thirties have treated me nicely and I have been loving it. Every year, usually on my birthday or that weekend we go flower shopping and spend the day planting in the yard. I'm kinda like my mom in that area, and she is kinda like her mom in that area. I remember going to the nurseries with my mom growing up and being in the car with my parents and listening to them  comment on yards and trees and wondering what kind of flower that was in some yard they drove past. Its funny because TJ and I will talk about flowers and bushes and trees when we drive. I walked with my mom everyday in the summers and we would just look at all the landscaping along the way. Some days we would be gone for hours at a time getting lost in this yard and that yard. So being in my yard definitely has some memories tied to it.
And in the past few years I have tried to do something "different" on my birthday so that when I think back I can actually remember that day. Who ever remembers the time they went to that one restaurant and ate that one thing and it was so good and the best date of my life? Said no one ever. Or maybe I'm having a mid life crisis early and want to "live" before I get old and frail. So this year I wanted to try something I had never done so I called my friend Heather and asked her for suggestions on where to go mountain biking for beginners (she is big into biking). Well her and her husband took us up Provo canyon and showed us a beautiful loop. The first half was up hill and hard. My legs were on FIRE! And some parts were so steep I had to get off and walk up. Then on the way down it was hard not to go fast and I get SO scared going fast! I couldn't get my bike to go slow enough. My hands were cramped from holding my brakes so tight. It was definitely a challenge and fun to try. I may even try it again. I just need to conquer my fear of going fast downhill.
I was also stoked this morning on my run. I have been feeling so slow lately and like it was such a struggle to just run. Like I was starting over or something after a long break (only there was no break). Well I ran my little heart out and ran a 7:45 pace! Now just to get back to where I can sustain that for 8 miles like I did last year or better yet for a full 13!
